The Ranch

DropTine Ranch was established in 2002 and is the culmination of a life long dream of its founder Frank L. Fackovec. Frank has spent many years roaming the globe in Our dove Hunting season is a few short weeks away and the state of Texas has issued a very long season. Our deer season is less than 2 short months away. We will be posting weekly specials for the upcoming season. Make sure you follow us to keep track of these offers you will not want to miss. Stay tuned!search of new adventure and during those travels he formulated a plan and dream for offering true world-class hunting and vacation ideas for the DropTine Ranch. Everything gained and learned during the hundreds of trips he made have gone into making the DropTine Ranch the absolute best travel destination in South Texas.

DropTine Ranch is located in the gorgeous hill country about 15 minutes north of the awesome town of Fredericksburg, 1 hour northwest of San Antonio and 1 hour west of Austin. The town is located in the burgeoning Texas wine country in addition to the many wineries there are micro breweries, antique shops, boutiques, spas and great restaurants. It is also the home of the Nimitz and Pioneer museums. This is the best small town in Texas a great place for the ladies who can enjoy themselves if they prefer not to hunt or for everyone to have fun including the kids after the hunt!

If you prefer you may relax and spend your morning and evening sitting in one of our blinds at one of the many lakes and ponds enjoying all the wildlife including hundreds of species of birds that are indigenous to south Texas. Imagine yourself seeing a mother bobcat coming to water with her kittens as a trophy whitetail with his impressive head gear materializes at the water's edge for a drink. The ducks that are migrating and taking a well deserved breather from their long journey swim idly and drift around the lake are startled by the splash of a patrolling 10-pound largemouth bass as you hear the coyotes yelping and yipping to each other in the distance as a new day breaks or the sun sets on the horizon. At the DropTine Ranch dreams live and memories are forever made.

The Hunting

The ranch does not have any livestock on it and is truly a wildlife paradise, we work hard year-round with habitat manipulation, farming, feeding and scouting for game and take a tremendous amount of pride in our operation. We do everything legally and humanly possible to bring you a hunt of a lifetime and we guarantee you will not find better hunting anywhere else.

Hunting at the DropTine Ranch starts September 1 with the opening of the Dove season which extends into the first week of November. There is a second Dove season in late December into early January. We start our Whitetail Deer Hunts in October and since the DropTine Ranch is under a state sponsored MLDP program we can hunt thru the end of February. Although we can Hog/Predator Hunt all year long we focus on the best time to hunt these critters which is from mid January thru March. In mid March we start our Spring Turkey Hunts which run until the first week of May. Finally we finish the season with our world class Axis Deer Hunts on neighboring ranches from the end of May thru June.

The DropTine ranch is strictly a native game ranch we offer exotic hunts on neighboring ranches which can be done either alone of in conjunction with other hunts and can be hunted year round.
